For three years, Stratton Palmer served as a wildland firefighter on the front lines of Arizona's toughest blazes. Day after day, he witnessed the same heartbreaking scene families losing everything as flames consumed their homes. What struck him most wasn't just the destruction, but the gap. No one was being truly proactive. People cleared brush, but there was no defense against the embers that fly for miles and land on rooftops, sparking devastation in seconds.

Determined to change that, Stratton launched Southwest Sawyers, a fuel reduction and land-clearing company dedicated to creating defensible space around properties. It was a big step toward prevention -but it still didn't solve the ember problem. 

That's when his father, Dennis, had a breakthrough idea: What if we could soak the home itself?

Together, they began working with industry experts to design and build professionally engineered exterior sprinkler systems-custom-built for homes in wildfire zones.
From there, father and son joined forces to launch FireShieldAZ LLC, combining ground defense (fuel reduction) with rooftop protection (sprinkler systems).

The two businesses go hand in hand. Clearing brush reduces fire load. Professionally engineered sprinklers stop embers from ever taking hold. And together, they form one mission: To protect as many families and homes as possible from wildfire destruction.
